Chad Parris, CSC Receives Jack Mehan Award At the December Columbus ASIS Chapter meeting, Chad Parris, CSC received the Jack Mehan Service Award from Gary Davis, Chapter Chairperson. The Jack Mehan Award is presented annually to a chapter member who has demonstrated outstanding dedication and service to ASIS and the Columbus Chapter. Congratulations Chad! Lynda Buel, CPP, CSC, CFE Elected ASIS Columbus Chapter Vice Chair Lynda Buel CPP, CSC, CFE continues her ongoing commitment to professional development and volunteer leadership. After serving in multiple roles including Assistant Regional Vice President and Law Enforcement Luncheon Chairperson, Lynda was elected as Vice Chairperson of the Columbus ASIS chapter. This two-year commitment will result in her serving as Chapter Chairperson in 2010. Congratulations Lynda! John Kleberg, M. University of Virginia Chooses Security Risk Management Consultants Security Risk Management Consultants has been selected by the University of Virginia to provide a wide range security assessment and planning services. Envisioned and designed by Thomas Jefferson and opening in 1825, the grounds of University of Virginia are home to one of the top ranked public institutions and one of the top 25 ranked public/private universities in the country. Data Center Physical Security Planning - An SRMC Specialty Security Risk Management Consultants has been selected by three organizations to provide security assessment and security technology design for three tier 2 to tier 3 free standing data centers. These data center will serve the insurance and healthcare industries. SRMC has provide security assessment, planning, design, and security program management support to over twenty data centers in the past six years. Columbus, OH City Council Recognizes Security Risk Management Consultants At their June 7, 2008 meeting, the Columbus, Ohio City Council recognized the ongoing efforts and notable competency of Security Risk Management Consultants by waiving formal bidding requirements and authorizing an expansive contract to provide assessment and security design for Division of Fire facilities. "Formal bidding provisions of the Columbus City Code Chapter 329.06 is recommended to be waived in order to enter into this contract with Security Risk Management Consultants, Inc., given their involvement and competence displayed in current and past projects such as Recreation and Parks CCTV installation; Risk assessments (pre and post 9/11) of City Hall; Design and implementation of the City Hall security technology platform; Design of the new City Hall security command center; Assessment and design of the Columbus Police Headquarters building, substations and new Training Academy." be found on their web site, Howard University Nationwide Children's Hospital Expansion- Nationwide Children's Hospital has engaged Security Risk Management Consultants for a wide range of services including security assessment, master planning, and security technology design for their new $800 million dollar expansion project. SRMC will provide assessment and security technology design related to their new 12 story, 700,000 square foot new main hospital building. Scheduled for opening in 2012, the new hospital will be surrounded by six additional acres of green space featuring parks and healing garden spaces for patients and families. Clinical features include an emergency/trauma center expanded to double the size of the current facility; a 40 percent increase in the size of patient rooms; and a floor dedicated to pediatric intensive care, cardiac intensive care and transplant services. SRMC is also providing security design for the Hospital's new central energy plant and parking garage. Shawnee State University Selects Security Risk Management Consultants Shawnee State University, one of 13 public four-year universities in Ohio, selected SRMC to provide security assessment and planning services. The scope of this endeavor includes review of campus-wide security and public safety programming, department organization, policies and procedures, technology implementation, and master planning. Columbia Selects Aggleton/Security Risk Management Consultants. Columbia University has selected the Aggleton/SRMC team to provide security vulnerability assessment, master planning, and security technology design on the Manhattanville expansion project in New York City. SRMC will lead assessment and security master planning efforts for Phase I of this 30-year initiative. When completed, Manhattanville will provide between 5 million and 6.8 million square feet of research, academic, retail, residential, and support space. Harvard's Allston Initiative will increase the size of the campus by 50% during the next fifty years. SRMC will provide security vulnerability assessment, benchmarking, standards development, process management support, and long-term planning, and develop a Strategic Security Approach applicable to the academic, residential, research, cultural, and athletic facilities being designed to create the Harvard University of the 21st century and beyond.
